When I first got to L.A., James Gadson was the Capo de Capo of studio drummers.
He had just done the two Bill Withers megahits and was hot as a firecracker.
Why he decided an unknown vibist was worth his effort I don't know, but without his mentoring I'd have been playing in bar bands for $50 a night.
With him I made all the hit records of the 1970's.
Thanks, Gad!
