The transition to the Virgin Islands has been very strange after 35 years in California. The one thing that has substantially eased the rocky aspect of a new musical venue is my fortunate association with the wonderful bassist and arranger above. Marsvyn has taken me in as the only non-Cruzan member of his band, the V.I. Rhythm Section.

He's got me reading charts like I was back in the studios but the tradeoff is, we work a lot of concerts rather than beach bars. And, because Marsvyn has spent time in the states and has serious jazz credentials, it's challenging music. No laying on the beach playing calypso here…
